You changed your clocks . . .did you change your batteries?
Twice a year we change our clocks to adjust
for daylight,
which is a perfect time to be changing the batteries in our
SMOKE DETECTORS and CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS. Especially with the winter fast approaching, MAKE SURE your fire detection equipment works.

Rude Awakening

Some New Milford
residents were called home after neighbors reported that a tree fell on a
house. The 75 ft. tree's roots had weakened and
finally given out after the wettest October on record. The story even
made the news, appearing on TV channels CBS 2, ABC 7, UPN 9, WB 11, and
Cablevision 12. Other damage sustained around town from the rain included
sink holes like the one below.

Co 2 and NMFD Honor/Color Guard win awards

Company 2 won Best Fire Engine, and NMFD
Color guard and Honor guard won 1st place trophies over twelve other fire
departments at the Northern Valley Fire Chiefs' Association Parade, hosted
in Tenafly.
