Volunteers

Become a Volunteer

We are always in need of brave, committed, and selfless volunteers who care about their families, their neighbors, and their community.  We accept applications from individuals between 18 and 45 years of age year-round.

The application process can be started by coming to the firehouse on Thursday nights (7:30 pm - 9:30 pm) and Sunday mornings (10:00 am - 12:00 pm) to watch and learn about the equipment, apparatus, the company SOGs.  After a short while, "Applicants" fill out an application form, take a physical exam, and sit with an "Investigation" Committee.

For more specific information on the application process, stop by the fire house or contact us through email.

Find out what a Volunteer firefighter wears here on the TURN-OUT GEAR page.

Junior Firefighter Program

Reliability, trust, dependability, honesty, responsibility, courage, teamwork, a strong work ethic; these are some of the characteristics of firemen, and good human beings.

Teens, ages 16 and 17, are eligible to be in our Junior Firefighter program and develop these traits.  "Juniors", as you will hear around the fire house, experience and participate in the duties and responsibilities of a fireman.  Juniors can not actively fight fires, but they can aid in training drills, and ride on the apparatus with our volunteers to some calls.

Juniors are treated like real fire fighters by receiving a full set of "turn out gear"; including boots, overalls, a jacket, and a helmet. They also receive a pager and are expected to respond to calls in their free time; however, just as work and jobs come first for with our adult volunteers, juniors are expected to put their schooling and homework first.
